William Byrd High School students recently collected children’s books as a community service project and donated the books to Vinton area elementary schools.

Mount Pleasant librarian and media specialist Lynez Humphries the books were delivered to Mount Pleasant Elementary on March 30, just before spring break.

“I was thinking it was going to be a few boxes, but I was overwhelmed with the number of books,” said Humphries. “SCA student Whitney Tickle delivered the books; her SCA teacher supervisor is Madison Weisenborn.”
