Please be advised that the
Vinton Town Council will
hold a public hearing at its
meeting on Tuesday,
September 15, 2026, at
6:00 p.m. or as soon
thereafter as the matter may
be heard, in the Council
Chambers of the Vinton
Municipal Building, located
at 311 South Pollard Street,
Vinton, Virginia, concerning
the proposed amendment
and additional appropriation
to the Town of Vinton’s FY
2026-2027 budget.
The proposed budget
amendment would
appropriate $2,500,000
received from a General
Obligation Bond and
$1,150,000 from
unappropriated fund
balance in the Capital Fund
for the funding of the Vinton
War Memorial Renovation
Project in the total amount
of $3,650,000.
State law requires a public
hearing to be held
whenever a proposed
budget amendment
exceeds one percent (1%)
of the total expenditures
shown in the currently
adopted budget. The Town
Council intends to consider
and may adopt the
proposed budget
amendment following the
public hearing, in
accordance with § 15.2
2507 of the Code of
Virginia.
