Please be advised that the
Vinton Town Council will
hold a public hearing at its
meeting on Tuesday,
September 15, 2026, at
6:00 p.m. or as soon
thereafter as the matter may
be heard, in the Council
Chambers of the Vinton
Municipal Building, located
at 311 South Pollard Street,
Vinton, Virginia, concerning
the proposed amendments,
transfers, and additional
appropriations to the Town
of Vinton’s FY 2026-2027
budget to appropriate
funding for projects and
activities that were
budgeted and appropriated
in the previous fiscal year in
the total amount of
$1,160,000 in the General
Fund and the Capital Fund.
These previously funded
projects include equipment
purchases and repairs,
contractual services, and
capital projects for the
History Museum, water
infrastructure, and
stormwater infrastructure.
State law requires a public
hearing to be held
whenever a proposed
budget amendment
exceeds 1% of the locality’s
total budget.
