The Lancerlot Sports Complex will be offering free lectures and events to the general public again in February.
“Your Sweet-Heart” is scheduled for February 9 at 10 a.m. This will be an open discussion with an RN Monica McAllister including these topics: “The Pump 101,” “Nutrition, Exercise, Stress and Our Lifestyles,” “How to keep our Ticker Ticking,” and “Warning Signs to be Aware of.”
PT Bill Mercer of Professional Therapies will be presenting a free lecture on February 15 at 10 a.m. entitled “Keeping Your Exercise Habit Going and Getting Ready for Spring Activities.”
Virginia Tech Nutritionist Margarita Cubas will present a free lecture on sugar on February 22 at 9:45 a.m. Her topics include different types of sugar, the effects of sugar on the body, nutrition sugar, sugar substitutes, and cooking with sugar.
All lectures are held in the third floor meeting room.
