The Dixie League District 7 O-Zone baseball tournament will begin this Friday night at Wade Park in Franklin County. The O-Zone tournament is for 12 and under boys.

Vinton will open the tournament Friday night at 6 pm against North Roanoke. That preceeds an 8 pm game between Salem and Craig County. Host Franklin County has a first round bye.

If Vinton wins Friday night the All-Stars would play Saturday at noon against Franklin County. If Vinton loses Friday they would play the Salem-Craig loser at 2 pm Saturday. The tournament is double elimination and runs through Wednesday, June 27.

The Dixie AAA District 7 tournament, for 10 and under boys, is scheduled to begin on Friday, June 29, and it will be hosted by Vinton at Vinyard Park. Host Vinton will be joined by Salem, North Roanoke, Glenvar and Franklin County. Mount Pleasant is not fielding all-star teams this season.

Also, the Roanoke Area Youth Softball Association(RAYSA) tournaments are scheduled to begin this Sunday and run through June 30, with most of the games at the James I. Moyer Complex in Salem. The brackets were not available as of press time.
