The East Roanoke girls U/14 lacrosse team played the James River Cardinals on Tuesday, March 28.
During the first half the score was 7 to 1, and East Roanoke was getting sorely beaten. Both teams played extremely well. Some East Roanoke players who scored were Ashlyn Stover with 5 points and Trinity Hylton with 3 points. Haley Firebaugh, who was the East Roanoke goalie, made some great saves. There were incredible interceptions, ground balls won, and shots taken by both sides.
The teams were very mature and shook hands at the end of the game showing great sportsmanship. In the end, East Roanoke lost by 2 with a final score of 8 to 10. What a comeback!
