Choirs represent William Byrd in All District Chorus

The William Byrd Choirs were well represented at high school and middle school All-District
Chorus. To receive this honor, choir students from our district auditioned by singing a prepared
art song and a sight-reading excerpt that they had never seen before for judges.

Those with the highest scores were eligible to participate in the All-District Choir events, where
singers from the district joined together and worked under accomplished guest conductors. Each
event culminated in a concert.

The high school event was held on February 9-10 and middle school took place on March 2. The
musical district includes all schools in the greater Lynchburg-Danville-Blacksburg-Roanoke
areas.

All District high school Byrd singers this year are Demarion Williams, Sofia Arthur, Connor
Wheeler, Taylor Spangler, Aubrey Blewett, Olaedo Anyanwu, Kaeleigh Swan, Abigail Bush,
Brooke Hershel, Owen Humphreys, Miley Moses, Nate Buck, Megan Higgins, Emily Sowers,
Alyssa Adams, Cindel Camper, Christian Parker, Brody Parrish, A’mari Banks, Sidney Draper,
and William Thompson.

All District middle school Byrd singers this year are Claire Draper, Bindi Whitenack, Hanna
Counts, Allison Bowling, Savannah Radosevich, Jaylynn Williams, Lily Duffy, Ayriana Huff,
Ava Lorton, Molly Webb, Makiya Harth, Kaelyn Hilscher, and Marygann Jenkins.

Several Byrd singers from both middle and high school auditioned for All-State choir and will be
participating in that event near the end of April in Richmond.
