William Byrd High School sophomore Elijah Oltmanns celebrates end of chemotherapy Cutline for Elijah Oltmanns photo # 1 (by Debbie Adams): William Byrd High School sophomore Elijah Oltmanns (left) celebrated the end of his chemotherapy treatments with family, the community, and friends from the Virginia Tech football team, who have been a great support to him since his diagnosis in 2014. His treatments were completed in February. His family threw a party at the Vinton War Memorial on March 19 to thank the community for its continual support. Elijah is pictured with Virginia Tech’s kicker, Joey Slye.
