Byrd’s Elena Boitnott sets one up in Monday’s match with Glenvar

The William Byrd volleyball team has a busy week with three games scheduled. The Terriers host Glenvar on Monday, were scheduled to play at Jefferson Forest on Wednesday and are home tonight to play host to Northside.

On Monday the girls lost to Glenvar in three sets, 28-26, 25-22 and 25-21. The first set was a heartbreaker for the girls, as they battled Glenvar to the final point before falling. That somewhat set the tone for the match.

Faith Andrews had eight kills, six digs and four aces for the Terriers. Elena Boitnott dished out 20 assists and Mary Kate Price had 10 digs and two aces.

Last Thursday at Patrick Henry the girls fell to the Patriots in three sets, 25-20, 25-21 and 25-15. Lauren Heck had six kills and five digs for the Terriers.

Through Monday Byrd was still looking for a win through eight tries. Next week they’ll host Franklin County on Monday, then travel to undefeated Lord Botetourt a week from tonight.
