Children are invited to participate in the annual Downtown Vinton Trick-or-Treat on Tuesday, October 31, from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Over 40 downtown businesses will be providing treats for children up to 12 years of age. The children are encouraged to dress in costume and should bring a container to collect treats.

Portions of Pollard Street, Walnut Avenue, Jackson Avenue, and Cleveland Avenue will be closed for the safety of the trick-or-treaters.

The event is sponsored each year by the Town of Vinton and the Vinton Area Chamber of Commerce and traditionally attracts many hundreds of children and their families. There are many princesses, movie characters, pirates, superheroes, ghouls and ghosts, with some families coordinating their outfits.

Businesses and organizations located on Vinton’s corridors are also invited to participate and set up booths to distribute goodies along the sidewalks in downtown Vinton.
