VINTON TOWN COUNCIL
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Please take notice that on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 6:00PM, or as soon thereafter as the
matter may be heard, in the Council Chambers of the Vinton Municipal Building, 311 South
Pollard Street, Vinton, Virginia, the Vinton Town Council will hold conduct a public hearing on
the following:
RESOLUTION NO. __
A RESOLUTION PURSUANT TO VIRGINIA CODE § 15.2-202 REQUESTING THAT THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF VINTON TO
REMOVE AND/OR RESOLVE INCONSISTENT, OUTDATED, AND/OR UNNECESSARY
LANGUAGE, TO CLARIFY LANGUAGE REGARDING THE TOWN MANAGER’S
AUTHORITY, AND TO INCORPROATE OTHER LANGUAGE REQUESTED BY TOWN
COUNCIL.
If adopted, the proposed Resolution will permit the Vinton Town Council to request that the
Virginia General Assembly approve the requested edits to the Town’s Charter. A copy of the
proposed Resolution may be examined either (i) at the Office of the Town Manager at 311 South
Pollard Street, Vinton, Virginia 24179, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday,
and by appointment on Friday, or (ii) on the Town’s website (www.vintonva.gov). Citizens are
encouraged to review the proposed Resolution, attend the public hearing, and present their views
on the proposed Resolution. Citizens also may submit public comments in writing to the
following email address: [email protected], by U.S. Mail to the Town Manager’s Office,
311 South Pollard Street, Vinton, VA, 24179, or by hand-delivering comments to the Town
Manager’s Office. Comments will be distributed to members of Town Council and entered into
the minutes as public records.
