Pursuant to the provisions of Sections 15.2-1800 (B) et seq., of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, the Town Council of the Town of Vinton, Virginia, hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at 7:00 p.m., or immediately thereafter.
The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comments concerning the proposed granting of a lease to Cargill Animal Nutrition for three (3) lots lying on the south side of 11th Street identified as 60.14-2-24, 60.14-2-25 and 60.14-2-26 and five (5) lots lying on Railroad Avenue identified as 60.14-2-1, 60.14-2-2, 60.14-2-3, 60.14-2-4 and 60.14-2-5, all of which are located in the Town of Vinton, Virginia, said lease to be for one 15 month period with the option to renew said lease for no more than three additional one-year renewal terms.
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 emergency, participation in this public hearing by Council members, staff, and the public will be available through electronic or other alternative means. The public may comment on the proposed Ordinance by emailing sjohnson@vintonva.gov, leaving a message at
540-983-0607 or writing to the Town Clerk, Vinton Municipal Building, 311 S. Pollard Street, Vinton, Virginia 24179. Voice mails, emails and other messages containing comments on the Ordinance will be provided to Council members. The public also may be able to comment during the electronic public hearing. an email to sjohnson@vintonva.gov by 12 Noon on Monday, March 15, 2021. The public can observe this meeting through a livestream on the Town’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/
vintonva. Additional information concerning the meeting and the public hearing will be made available on the Town’s website at least three days before the meeting date.
