The Farm Shoppe: A Marketplace of Virginia Entrepreneurs celebrated its grand re-opening at a
new Vinton location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Vinton Area Chamber of
Commerce on September 19.

Brandon Hall is the owner of the business which started out on a hilltop behind the Vinton
Farmers’ Market and Post Office in a smaller location in December 2023, before moving
downtown to 301 South Pollard Street over the summer.
Hall describes the Farm Shoppe as a marketplace for “Gifts, Décor, Apparel, and More,”
specializing in farmhouse, country, and primitive design.
He is a 2015 graduate of William Byrd High School. As a student at WBHS, he worked at
Kroger for four years. After that, his first “real job” was as a banker at HomeTrust in Vinton.
Since then, he has worked for several different banks and credit unions in the area and as a
financial coach and loan underwriter.
Hall says he started the home décor business as a “side gig,” as an outlet for his creativity. His
family has long been involved in owning and operating gift shops, with two former locations in
Vinton—many fondly remember “The Olde Willow” on Hardy Road. Shoppers may have also
seen his booth at the “Stocked Market” at the Berglund Center and at other special events.
He established The Farm Shoppe in 2021 and then opened the brick-and mortar-location in
Vinton.
When his first Vinton shop opened last year, Hall said, “I want to thank folks for their
support—without our success in the booths and local events we would’ve never gotten this far.
We are stoked to be back InVinton and can’t wait to grow within the community.”
When Hall moved The Farm Shoppe to its more visible location on Pollard Street in downtown
Vinton, he had something unique in mind for the community—“We are seeking talented
entrepreneurs who are ready to open their own ‘mini’ brick-and-mortar.”
This plan eventually resulted in an amendment to the Vinton Zoning Ordinance defining “vendor
market” and a special use permit from the town.
Property owner Annette Patterson requested the permit so that the shop could add approximately
20 booths (4×5, 6×8, and 10×10) for other vendors within a “marketplace” setting.
Town Council approved the ordinance change and the special use permit and Hall got to work on
renovations to create a marketplace setting and recruiting vendors.

GRAYcious Design, Grace and Glitter Bowtique, Evie’s Babies Boutique, Worthy Craftsman,
Barbara Jean’s Bazaar, Wanza’s Treasures, A Clever Mess, Hunt & Chase, DaniMondays,
Outlaw Junction Designs, ZFuArt, Tim & Zach Thrifty Finds, By Southern Grace, and Hodge
Podge.

“I’d like to thank folks again for their support so far,” said Hall. “We’ve come a long way in
such little time and are stoked to continue to grow InVinton! We’ve strategically turned 301 S.
Pollard into a beautiful vendor marketplace featuring over 20 spaces to bring a new retail
experience to our town.
“We pride ourselves on being ‘different’ than any other marketplace in the valley. Not only will
you find country décor and antiques, we do not limit our vendors to handmade versus wholesale.
Enjoy an incredible shopping experience featuring brand new items along with a mix of
handmades and wholesale. We’ve created a space where almost every business can come
together as one!”
Farm Shoppe hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and closed on Wednesday and Sunday.
The business has become well-known for celebrating special events.
Hall has already announced, “Our trick or treat event is coming on October 26, starting at 12
p.m., featuring ‘booth’ truck or treating, a costume contest, and kids’ activities. Our second
annual Christmas at the Shoppe is being held November 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.”
