The William Byrd boys and girls swept Staunton River in Blue Ridge District tennis matches Tuesday. The boys won 5-4 in Moneta and the girls won 9-0.

Singles winners for the boys were Adi Iyer, Meet Patel, Brandon Mitchell and Colin Honalker. Honaker and Logan Bond won at third doubles to clinch the match.

Byrd also defeated William Fleming last Friday at home, 5-4. The boys will host Lord Botetourt on Friday.

The girls got singles wins from Kaidyn Settles,  Hannah Shelton,  Allison Faulkner,  Olivia Ashworth,  Julia Kelly and Maddie Glover as they won 9-0 against both Staunton River Tuesday and at William Fleming last Friday. Doubles winners were the teams of Settles & Shelton, Kelly and Maddie Craig and Ashworth and Glover.

The girls will play Lord Botetourt Friday at the Hollins University courts.
