Vinton– The Vinton Police Department is actively investigating a breaking and entering and property damage incident at the old Roland E. Cook School in the Town of Vinton. The structure, located at 412 S. Poplar Street, is currently under renovation and is being converted into apartments. The project, known as the Roland E. Cook Lofts, is scheduled to be completed in March or April of 2017. The project involves converting the school, which was built in 1917, into 21 apartments. The investigation indicates the suspects broke into the building over the weekend of September 23 through 25, 2016 damaging the interior of the building and an assortment of construction supplies. The structure and its contents sustained several thousand dollars in damage. The Vinton Police Department asks for your assistance.
