Gus Nicks Boulevard Midblock Pedestrian Crosswalk Project

Between: Glade Creek Greenway Trailhead Parking  And: West Madison Avenue

Willingness to Hold a Public Hearing Find out about a proposal to provide a mid-block pedestrian crosswalk on Gus Nicks Boulevard, to

connect the Glade Creek Greenway to the Gish Mill Property (formerly Holdren’s Country Store), as

approved by the Roanoke Valley Transportation Planning Organization (RVTPO) on July 2, 2020,

and again on May 27, 2021, and by Vinton Town Council on March 1, 2022, respectively. The Project

will reduce the likelihood of accidents involving pedestrians attempting to cross Gus Nicks

Boulevard, a very heavily-traveled right-of-way. The Project will provide a safer connection for pedestrians and/or greenway users from Glade Creek Greenway, located to the south of Gus Nicks Boulevard to the Gish Mill Property, located to the north of Gus Nicks Boulevard. If your concerns cannot be satisfied through informal discussion via a call, email or a meeting, the Town of Vinton is willing to hold a public hearing. You may ask that a public hearing be held by sending a request in writing to Anita McMillan, Planning and Zoning Director, Town of Vinton

If a request for a public hearing is received, a notice of date, time, and place of the hearing will be publicly posted.
