Gus Nicks Boulevard Midblock Pedestrian Crosswalk Project
Between: Glade Creek Greenway Trailhead Parking And: West Madison Avenue
Willingness to Hold a Public Hearing Find out about a proposal to provide a mid-block pedestrian crosswalk on Gus Nicks Boulevard, to
connect the Glade Creek Greenway to the Gish Mill Property (formerly Holdren’s Country Store), as
approved by the Roanoke Valley Transportation Planning Organization (RVTPO) on July 2, 2020,
and again on May 27, 2021, and by Vinton Town Council on March 1, 2022, respectively. The Project
will reduce the likelihood of accidents involving pedestrians attempting to cross Gus Nicks
Boulevard, a very heavily-traveled right-of-way. The Project will provide a safer connection for pedestrians and/or greenway users from Glade Creek Greenway, located to the south of Gus Nicks Boulevard to the Gish Mill Property, located to the north of Gus Nicks Boulevard. You may view the Project information on the web at https://www.vintonva.gov/509 or by visiting the
