The Lancerlot Sports Complex on Vinyard Road in Vinton continues to offer free health lectures to the public in May.

On May 15 at 9:45 a.m. nutritionist Margarita Cubas will be giving the “My Plate Lecture,” in which she will show the proper plate size to use with an emphasis on eating a variety of healthy foods each day and in the right portions. Her lecture will cover finding the right balance between food intake and physical activity.

Another free lecture, “Ask the PT” will be presented as an open forum by physical therapist Bill Mercer on May 17 at 10 a.m. He will be discussing and answering questions about any kind of physical therapy-related issues.
