Indoor track team having success outdoors

The William Byrd indoor track team is gearing up for the post-season with “Polar Bear” meets outside. Last Saturday the Terriers were at Northside for a quad meet with Cave Spring, Hidden Valley and the host Vikings.

Sela Beatty started the day off with a win in the 55m dash with a time of 7.63 seconds. Remi Figart finished 3rd with a time of 7.99 and Sydney Blewett finished 4th in 8.24 seconds. Figart also won the 300m dash with a time of 45.60 seconds and Emma Dalton fwas 3rd at 52.58 seconds.

Emma Gordon won the 500m dash in 1:29.92 and Kelsey Roth was 3rd at 1:34.04.  In the 55m hurdles Beatty won with a time of 12.37 seconds.

The 4x200m relay won in 1:56.72 with the team of Chloe Harrilla, Figart, Dalton and Beatty.  Blewett won the shot put with a throw of 25’11”.

The boys team had a great day at Northside as Noah Thompson finished 2nd in the 55m dash with a time of 7.15.  Isaac Roth won the 300m dash in 38.90 and Walker Nance ran 43.68.  Nance won the 55m hurdles with a time 10.10

Dakota Bell won the 500m dash in 1:19.26 and Case Crawford finished 3rd in1:24.85. The 4x200m relay team won with a time of 1:43.17 with Roth, Nance, Tyler Buxton and Thompson.

Keaton Band finished 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 32’6” while Jacob McKinney finished 4th at 26’1” and Jack Hinkle was 6th at 22’1”.

The Byrd Indoor Track And Field will be traveling to Christiansburg High School on February 13th, 2021 for the Region 3 Championships starting at Noon.
