Tim Greenway, who represents the Vinton Magisterial District on the Roanoke County School Board, has announced that he will run for re-election this fall.
Greenway joined the School Board in 2015 when Mike Stovall resigned mi-term and was elected to a full term in 2017. He has served as both Chairman and Vice Chairman in his years on the board.
He has championed renovations to William Byrd High School, building a new W. E. Cundiff Elementary due to its obsolete open classroom concept, and construction of a new Burton Center for Arts and Technology to serve all county students. He has agonized over the impact of COVID-19 on the school system and urged a faster return of students for in-person learning, but ultimately supported the school system’s Return to School plan.
Greenway owns Mountain View Real Estate, LLC, located in Vinton. He is a 1982 graduate of William Byrd High School and holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Radford University.
