The William Byrd tennis teams had matches on back-to-back days last week with mixed results. Byrd players Patrick Henry on Thursday and Northside on Friday for both the girls and boys.

The girls dropped a 5-2 match at PH in a weather-shortened affair. Number four Allison Faulkner and number five Julia Kelly won their matches.

The boys, playing at home, lost to PH 8-1. Logan Bond and Matty Butler won at number three doubles.

On Friday the girls beat Northside, 8-1, in Vinton. Byrd swept the singles with wins by, in order, Kaidyn Settles, Hannah Shelton, Faukner, Olivian Ashworth, Kelly and Maddie Glover. Byrd then won at one and three doubles.

The Terriers were scheduled to play William Fleming on Wednesday and  Friday they take on Staunton River with the boys here and the girls in Moneta.
