Dr. Marshall Green, DDS FACS of Mountain State Oral and Facial Surgery (MSOFS), opened his practice in Vinton on Monday, April 4. His office at 895 East Washington Avenue is the former practice of Dr. George Kevorkian, who is retiring after 36 years. Dr. Green has been working with Dr. Kevorkian since January.
In a letter to his patients, Kevorkian described Green as “an outstanding and compassionate” surgeon with an impressive resume.
Dr. Green will be seeing patients seeking dental implants, extractions, wisdom teeth removal and other dental services. According to Keely Blankenship, Strategic Marketing Manager for MSOFS, “These are similar to services which Dr. Kevorkian offered. We will most likely offer additional services in the future.”
In general, patients will not need to have a referral to visit the Vinton office.
Through the Facial Center, other MSOFS practitioners offer a wide variety of aesthetic and cosmetic services.
Blankenship estimates a total of 12 employees will be working in the Vinton location.
“The decision to open a Mountain State Oral and Facial Surgery location in Vinton was largely based on our excitement to bring world-class care to Virginia, as we currently have locations in West Virginia and Kentucky,” Blankenship added. “Dr. Green recently joined our team of surgeons, and when the opportunity to open an office in Virginia came along, we knew Dr. Green would be the perfect fit for that office location. Vinton seems like a wonderful community that we are proud to become part of.”

I am 85 years old and take a blood thinner, Eliquis. I needed to have tooth extracted and was concerned about excessive bleeding. Dr. Green performed the extraction with no problem- no bleeding until I stupidly drank a cup of hot coffee. I returned to his office an d expertly treated by Dr. Green and his staff. Bleeding stopped and was told to only drink cold liquids. Also to apply ice pack to jaw. I returned home and followed their instructions. No further bleeding or pain and am healing quickly. Thanks io a great team. I highly recommend them
