The Cave Spring tennis teams had a little too much firepower for William Byrd as the two Roanoke County schools played home-and-home. The Knights prevailed in both matches for both the girls and boys.

The boys lost 8-1 on Tuesday at Cave Spring and they’re still looking for their first win.

The girls play at home Tuesday and lost 9-0 to the Knights. The closest match was an 8-6 pro set loss by Maddie Glover of Byrd.

Last Thursday the girls played at Cave Spring and fell 8-1. Allison Faulkner picked up the win for Byrd. The girls are 1-2 after three matches and both teams were snowed out of a match with Pulaski County last week. They’re scheduled to play the Cougars today, with the boys at home and the girls at Pulaski.

After today’s matches both teams will be off for spring break, returning April 13 with matches against William Fleming.
