Bobby Ray “Bob” Bass, 80, of Four Oaks, N.C., died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Mill Creek Christian Church in Bentonville with burial in the church cemetery.
He was born in Johnston County on April 23, 1936 to the late William Bartley and Susan Merlene Smith Bass. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Ray Bass; brother, William Elwood Bass; sisters, Anne Rose B. Parker and Marjorie Carroll B. Barefoot. He was a retired sales representative with ACDelco, a division of General Motors. He was a US Army veteran and a member of Mill Creek Christian Church. He also worked with the former Minshew Funeral Home in Four Oaks.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Lois T. Bass of Four Oaks; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Matt Leggat of Asheville; two granddaughters, Ruby and Nora Leggat; several nieces and nephews.
