Nationally eighth-ranked Randolph-Macon College is headed to the NCAA Division III Football
Championship quarterfinals for the first time in program history after a 46-0 shutout of 19th-ranked Ithaca
College last Saturday afternoon in Ashland.
The Yellow Jackets have three William Byrd graduates on the team, twins Nick and Matt Hale and
El-Amin Shareef. Matt Hale is the starting center and Nick Hale is a tailback who ran for 102 yards and two
touchdowns in last week’s shutout of Ithaca.
RMC moves on to face John Hopkins University (12-0) this Saturday, December 2, in Baltimore,
MD. The Jackets are two wins away from earning a trip to the NCAA Division III, which will be held in
Salem this season on December 16 at Salem Stadium.
