The William Byrd lacrosse teams were swept by Franklin County in a doubleheader in Vinton last Thursday.
The girls dropped a 14-7 decision to the Eagles. Byrd trailed just 6-4 at the half but Franklin pulled away after intermission.
“We stayed with Franklin in the first half but could not keep up with them in the second half,” said Byrd coach Dan Eberhardt.
Tabitha Beecher had four goals for the Terriers and Chloe Pascoe had two.
The boys, who were missing four starters, lost 22-1. The lone goal was scored by Tanner Pruzan and James Buchanan had 10 saves filling in for injured goalie Payton Meadows.
Both teams are back in action Monday at home against Rockbridge.
