Jillian Rae Gruber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip E. Gruber of Moneta, and Michael Austin Witt, son of Pamela Witt and the late Michael E. Witt, were united in marriage on October 1, 2017.
The ceremony was held on the grounds of the Peaks of Otter overlooking the lake in front of Sharp Top Mountain at 10 o’clock in the morning. The Rev. Wayne Lanham of Forest officiated.
The maid of honor was Elizabeth Colgan, lifelong friend of the bride. The best man and brother of the groom was John Michael Witt.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a black silhouette dress under an all-white lace bridal wrap styled as a long cloak jacket with a flowing cathedral hem. The groom wore a black tux with a white Waverly jacket. The best man and maid of honor were in black and navy. The flowers were fashioned by the bride’s mother and aunt.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony all guests were invited to a brunch reception at the Lodge.
After honeymooning on the Maya Riviera, the couple plans to continue to work and live in Vinton.
