The Virginia’s Blue Ridge Figure Skaters paid tribute to the United States Olympics teams with
Theatre on Ice performances of “The Winter Games Ice Shows” at the Lancerlot Sports Complex
this past weekend (Feb. 28 and March 1). According to the announcer, the show celebrated
everyone’s “favorite winter sport– figure skating.”
The Theatre on Ice show featured an opening Olympic ceremony with torches and the entire
Theatre on Ice cast skating together, followed by solos showcasing nearly 30 skaters. The
program grand finale included the cast draped in flags from a variety of countries and the
presentation of medals to the winning countries.

The music featured in the program was from past Olympic games.
The Theatre on Ice program at the Lancerlot began in May 2021 with “Learn to Skate” as a
chance for skaters to learn choreography, work within a group of all ages and ability levels, and
showcase fun, theatrical programs. The program continues to grow. The skaters vary in age and
skill level and come from all around the valley, and even beyond.
Addi Clark is the head coach for the figure skating club. Megan Noga is the figure skating
director at the Lancerlot.
Soloists in the Winter Games show were Charleigh Zimmerman, Allison Phillips, Charlotte
Salters, Keira Saccocci, Kinley Schmidt, Maura Hallman, Arabella Entsminger, Kenzie
LaVenture, Paige Sykes, Azriel Keesee, Charlotte Noble, Sophia Rush, Irena McCormick, Anna
Bryan, Faith Baker, Ava Peterson, Savannah Colleluori, Elise Shaver, Hannah Thompson,
Margo Kaminska, Jordan Lucas, Daniel Binns-Loveman, and Alex Williams.
Coaches Addi Clark, Summer Young, and Kat Xing also performed solos.
The next six-week Learn to Skate session begins on April 11. Learn to Skate classes teach the
fundamentals of ice skating and provide a foundation for figure skating, hockey, and speed
skating.
There are two more Theatre on Ice shows to look forward to in 2026– in September and
December.
