The Vinton Public Library celebrated the August 21 solar eclipse along with the rest of the country with a Solar Eclipse Viewing Party. Over 100 people of all ages signed up to attend the event, limited only by the number of pairs of viewing glasses available to observe the largest eclipse visible in the Roanoke Valley in 50 years.
There were eclipse crafts, stickers, and information flyers available, along with snacks of Moon Pies, Starburst, and Sun Drop soda.
