Vinton cut the ribbon to open the newest section of greenways on July 11. This greenway project was the result of partnerships between many organizations including (left to right): Anthony Ford from VDOT, Vinton Planning and Zoning Director Anita McMillan, Bo Herndon from Vinton Public Works, County Administrator Tom Gates, Roanoke County Supervisor Jason Peters, Vinton Area Chamber of Commerce President Justin Davison, Vinton Mayor Brad Grose, Roanoke Greenway Commision Chair Bud LaRoche, Vinton Councilwoman Janet Scheid, Vinton Town Manager Barry Thompson, Jennifer Faulkner representing Bob Goodlatte, PFG Plant Manager Mike Maust, and Coordinator of the Roanoke Valley Greenways Liz Belcher.
