VINTON–According to information obtained from Roanoke County Schools, enrollments are remaining fairly steady or slightly increasing in Vinton area schools.
Currently the count at William Byrd High School is 1,140 as compared to 1,135 in the 2014-2015 school year (as recorded on December 31, 2014). WBHS had the highest enrollment in the five county high schools last year.
There are approximately 790 students attending William Byrd Middle School now as compared to 789 last year. In 2014-2015, WBMS had the highest enrollment among the five county middle schools.
The enrollment at Bonsack Elementary is now 390 students, one less than last year.
Herman L. Horn Elementary has 373 students, the same number as last year.
Students number 337 at Mount Pleasant Elementary. Their enrollment in 2014-2015 was 330.
At W.E. Cundiff there are currently 505 students enrolled, a few less than last year’s 516. Cundiff had the highest enrollment among the 16 county elementary schools in the 2014-2015 school year.
