Two William Byrd baseball players have recently announced their college plans. Isaac Fix has decided to pitch at Davidson College and Nate Hayes will be heading to Lancaster Bible College.
Fix is a junior pitcher coming off two solid years on the varsity. The tall lefty had several schools interested but Davidson was in from the beginning and he decided to commit last week.
Davidson is a Division I school in the Atlantic 10 Conference and is located in Davidson, North Carolina. It’s an excellent academic school and lists Stephen Curry and President Woodrow Wilson among its alumni. Also, Fix enjoys fishing and the school is located close to Lake Norman.
Hayes, a senior outfielder for the Terriers, enjoyed a recent visit to Lancaster, PA to see the school and meet the coach.
“The team felt like family,” he said. “The coach believes in me and it’s a chance to play baseball for four more years.”
Lancaster Bible is a Division III school and a member of the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
