The Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church Prayer Team continued the focus on community prayer by hosting a New Year’s Eve prayer service for Vinton and the surrounding community at the Hardy Road Kroger.
The community was invited to stop by for prayer, Bible verses, coffee, and donuts.
Pastor Jae Song from Thrasher along with members of the Prayer Team Ministry at Thrasher invited shoppers to write down prayer requests for 2017, to accept Scripture verse bookmarks, and to pray with a pastor. Pastor Frank Broughman from Under the Bridge Ministries on Walnut Avenue in Vinton also participated.
The Prayer Team received over 70 written prayer requests from shoppers passing by, which will be saved and prayed over during the coming year.
In 2016 Thrasher joined with other area churches for a Community Prayer Walk through downtown Vinton and for an Election Day prayer service, also held at Kroger.
