Officer Jeremy Shrewsbury has been named Vinton Police Officer of the Month for March by his fellow officers. He was recognized by the police force and Vinton Town Council during the April 17 council meeting.
“Day in and day out, each member of our agency puts forth maximum effort in an attempt to make our community a safer place to live,” wrote Chief Foster in making the announcement.
“As law enforcement officers, we are captivated by the purpose of the profession— making an impact,” Foster said. “For this reason, you were nominated and selected as Officer of the Month.
“You have shown both consistent and exemplary police work,” Foster continued. “Your efforts resulted in over 65 traffic summonses and over a dozen arrests during the month. These charges stemmed from driving-related offenses to drug offenses.”
Foster said, “This recognition is a small measure of acknowledgement from your team, to show that we have noticed your tenacity, and the enthusiasm that you show as a law enforcement officer. Your persistent work and dedication to the agency and Town of Vinton are invaluable. Thank you for the outstanding work
