The Vinton Farmers’ Market invites children to participate in the first “Shake, Bake & Sprout” of the summer on Saturday, June 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children will have the opportunity to plant a “pizza container garden” they can take home.
In addition, the children can become little chefs by participating in hands-on cooking and sampling taught by the Virginia Tech Family Nutrition Services Program.
Fun movement activities will be conducted by “Knuckleheadz Kid Hop” with rap duo Stevie D. Davies and his five-year-old son Jax, and Super Kicks Karate. Knuckleheadz released their first album, “No Sleep Til Bedtime,” in February.
The event is free and open to children and families. The market is located at 204 W. Lee Avenue, Vinton.
