Thanks to all that helped make this year’s relay a success – with the set up, take down, working the event, plus all the committee and teams.
Also to those that took the time out of their busy schedules to attend and raise money to help those that are fighting the battle of cancer. Cancer never takes a vacation or rest. Wish it did and we no longer have to have relays.
What a great moment it was when the survivors did their walk and Sammy and Terri Cundiff carried the banner. Sam is a miracle and how wonderful it was for him and his beautiful wife Terri to be here with. He has been through so much. Our hearts are always heavy for all the survivors. We love them all.
This year the dinner for survivors went Mexican with tacos and all the trimmings, prepared by the Thrasher Kitchen Crew headed up by Jo Brooks, Carol Mattox, Shirley Rice, Allean Lilly, Debbie Rice, Connie Houff, Suzanne Bell. Looked cute in their sombreros. They do a fantastic job. Kim Horn is the sponsor of the dinner.
Thank you to all committee members (old faithfuls); to the students from service learning classes; WBHS JROTC; Mrs. Boush ‘s class stopping by filling the bags with the sand; All the team captains and teams; all the sponsors; Vinton War Memorial; Courtney Baker; ACS; Joey Nicely (sound and karoke). And all that helped in anyway to make the event a success since it was a challenge to change places. You all are angels! Hats off to Carol Williams and Angie Chewning– you two can breathe a little this week!
