The award-winning Red Herring Puppet Troup from Asheville, N.C., visited the Vinton Public Library on July 7, performing “Adventures in Folkore.” The puppets shared multi-cultural tales hosted by a friendly green alien, Rowby.
The stories included the “Dogs and Masters” romp through the parks of Paris, a Himalayan folktale, “Kamala’s Drum,” about the spirit of generosity, the “Three Little Pigs,” and “Jack and the Beanstalk.”
On July 17, the Balloon Lady will make her annual appearance, which combines storytelling with balloon sculptures. Her performance is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. This event is also for the entire family.
