Sheradyn O’Neill was crowned as the 2018 International Junior Miss Virginia Preteen during the International Junior Miss State Pageant in McLean February 24 and 25.
The Vinton resident is the 11-year-old daughter of John and Shani O’Neill. There were several categories the contestants were judged in: Interview, Fun Fashion, and Eveningwear, among others. At the conclusion of the weekend-long competition, Sheradyn was crowned as the 2018 International Junior Miss Virginia Preteen.
Sheradyn will now travel to San Antonio, Texas to represent Virginia in the Preteen division at the International Finals. There she will be competing against other state title holders as well as national title holders from countries such as The Bahamas, Haiti, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Australia.
During Sheradyn’s reign as the 2018 IJM Virginia Preteen, she will be promoting her cause, #SherCares, fitness, recreation, and inclusion for children with special needs.
Sheradyn is a native of Vinton who attends William Byrd Middle School. She is enrolled in all Pre AP classes and maintains an A/B average. Sheradyn studies dance at Floyd Ward School of Dance in Vinton. She has been a member of the Ensemble Teams for Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, and Hip Hop for the past four years. The teams attend competitions throughout the Eastern Seaboard. She also volunteers with Floyd Ward School of Dance’s “Angels from Heaven” program where she works and dances with young children with special needs. Sheradyn is also a model/ambassador for several dancewear companies including Betty Harlow Dancewear and The Toasted Tulip Dancewear.
