On Sunday, May 20, 2018, the Mount Pleasant Lions were entertained at the Smith Mountain Lake home of Lions Mike and Anne Ferguson.
The occasion was not only good food and impressive music, it was the installation of officers for the upcoming year. The officers were installed by Bruce Mayer, a Vinton Luncheon Lion.
The Mount Pleasant Lions Club will be led by President Thomas (Pat) Musselwhite and assisted by Vice President Tommy Moore and Treasurer James (Warren) Burger. All members accepted various offices and titles to help the club grow and serve the community in 2018-2019.
According to secretary Janet West, on Tuesday, June 5, the Mount Pleasant Lions Club was filled with the “sweet” sounds of music. “We could ask the neighbors about the ‘sweet’ part,” she commented.
President Pat Musselwhite enlisted the help of his grandson Hunter, and a karaoke night was enjoyed by all in attendance with “oldies but goodies,” including “God Bless America,” This Land is Your Land,” “Hello Mary Lou,” and “My Girl,” to name a few of the tunes.
The Lions meet in Mount Pleasant at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of every month.
