Virginia’s Blue Ridge Figure Skating Club and the Lancerlot Sports Complex hosted their fourth
annual “December to Remember” holiday ice show on Dec. 13 and 14 at the Lancerlot.

A very enthusiastic audience cheered on the 25 soloists and two pairs as they performed to
Christmas, holiday, and winter-themed tunes— some familiar, but many not so familiar. Skaters
were rewarded for their performances not only by loud applause and cheers, but by stuffed toys
tossed onto the ice afterwards.

Irena McCormick and Jordan Lucas performed the show-stopping “Grandma Got Run
Over by a Reindeer” for the fourth year— back by audience demand.

Meghan Noga, the figure skating director at the Lancerlot, says the Theatre on Ice program
began in May 2021 as a chance for skaters to learn choreography, work within a group of all
ages and ability levels, and showcase fun, theatrical programs. The figure skating program has
evolved from a very successful USA “Learn to Skate” program at the “Lot”.

The skaters vary in age and skill level and come from all around the valley, and even beyond.
Addi Clark is the head coach for the figure skating club.
