William Byrd High School basketball coach Josh Cunningham and Leon Caldwell will be directing the NTBC Foundations “Hoops School” the week of July 9 to 12 and July 16-19. The clinics are sponsored by New Testament Baptist Church in Vinton and are free of charge.
The camps will be held at the Family Life Center, located on the church campus at 2500 Washington Avenue in Vinton. The week of July 9-12 is for boys and girls who are rising third through fifth graders. They may choose to attend either the morning or afternoon session, with morning sessions from 9-11:30 am and afternoon sessions from noon to 2:30 pm.
July 16-19 is for middle school boys and girls in grades 6 and 7. There will only be one daily session from 9 am until noon.
There will be several guest speakers and every camper gets a Hoops School t-shirt. There is no cost for attending.
Foundations Hoops School is designed to teach young people skills and attitude development for both basketball and life. The camp is directed by two current local high school coaches with local players as instructors. The camp is a ministry of New Testament Baptist Church.
