The Dogwood Festival on April 29 will feature three bluegrass bands playing at the Vinton Baptist Church stage adjacent to the parking area. Deep South will play from 11 to 12; Haymaker Town Express will perform from 12 to 1, followed by the Roanoke Valley Ramblers from 1 to 2.
The Haymaker Town Express will be playing at the VFW Hall on Lee Avenue in downtown Vinton on Friday, April 14 from 7 to 1 p.m.
The Roanoke Valley Ramblers will be featured at the VFW on Friday, April 28. Admission is $5 for the VFW events. Hot dogs, sides, and desserts are on sale, along with door prizes and a cake walk.
The Roanoke Valley Fiddle and Banjo Club meets on the first Saturday night each month at the Woodmen of the World Building on Peters Creek Road in Roanoke. Performances get underway on April 1 at 5:30 with an open mic (everyone is welcome), followed by Darren and Bailey at 6, the Shelton Brothers at 6:55, and Hard Tymes Lane at 8:05.
Adult admission for the monthly Roanoke Valley Fiddle and Banjo Club events is a $7 donation at the door with children ages 15 and under free. Advance tickets are available for a $5 donation at the Salem Senior Center on Mondays and at Maiden & Son’s Garage Monday-Friday.
