Edward Jones Financial Services held a grand opening celebration at the new offices in
downtown Vinton on Oct. 2. Co-owners Jamie McCadden and Nathan Wallace were joined by
the Vinton Area Chamber of Commerce, town officials, and several of their customers in a

Edward Jones Financial Services was originally located on East Lee Avenue until the fire of
2022 severely damaged the building, then moved to a small office on Walnut Avenue and now to
212 South Pollard, which was formerly Neely’s Accounting. The new office is more visible to
the public on the town’s main street and has more parking.
McCadden and Wallace have taken over the clients of retiring financial advisor George Lester.
They are assisted by office administrators Brandy Johnson, Dori Finney, and Angie Cash.
McCadden is originally from Roanoke and a 1994 graduate of Patrick Henry High School. His
grandfather was Vinton businessman Gerald Adams, who owned a flooring store at 107 South
Pollard (now the well-known restaurant site). McCadden spent a great deal of time there with his
grandparents as a child, and, also at the Pentecostal church next door (located in what is now
Twin Creeks Brewing Company).
He earned his Associate Degree in Business and Managerial Finances from Virginia Western
Community College. After college, he became an owner/operator for FedEx from 2002-2011
with 10 trucks, six routes, and eight employees. He worked with a financial advisor from Edward
Jones who encouraged him to join the world of finance. That led to a job with Mutual of Omaha
Investor Services as a financial advisor and sales director from October 2012 to March 2024,
when he joined Edward Jones.
McCadden also received training in Finance and Financial Management from the American
College Financial Services Institute. He earned certifications from RICP as a Retirement Income
Certified Professional and from AAMS as an Accredited Asset Management Specialist.
He and his wife, Angie, have two teenage sons, Jalen and Jordan— that’s why he recognizes “the
importance of financial security for families. With over a decade of experience in insurance and
financial services, I’ve had the privilege of guiding countless clients towards their financial
objectives.”
Nathan Wallace is originally from Iowa, raised on a farm. He says he learned “early on in life
that hard work was necessary to be successful and sometimes it wasn’t quick or easy.”
His plan was to move somewhere larger. His grandfather lived in Lynchburg and welcomed him
to move in while he attended Liberty University, where he earned both a Bachelor and Master of
Business Administration focusing on business and finance. When his grandfather passed away,
Wallace was allowed to live there to complete his studies. He met his wife, and they decided to
stay in the area. They have been married for 13 years and have two daughters, ages 10 and 9.
“We enjoy time outside in the world God created and we are very active in our church,” he said.
Prior to joining Edward Jones, he worked in the healthcare industry for six years.
“In all that time, my most enjoyable moments were helping others advance toward their personal
or professional goals. Teamwork, partnership, and giving back to the community are all very
important to me. I am truly fortunate to be able to work with a firm that shares that mission and
those values.
“Throughout my life, helping others has been an important part of who I am. I chose a career in
financial services so that I may have a greater opportunity to make a difference in the lives of
families in my community. I joined Edward Jones in 2023, because their core values align with
mine and through their infrastructure I may help others.”
McCadden and Wallace say, “At Edward Jones, we empower our clients with tailored
investments, comprehensive services, and innovative tools to help navigate their financial
journeys. Supported by a vast network of skilled professionals and cutting-edge technology, our
branch offices are equipped to address long-term financial goals effectively.”
Edward Jones, founded in 1922, is one of the three largest financial advisory firms in the United
States with over 15,000 branch offices.
The Vinton branch provides services involving college savings, new investors, retirement
income strategies, retirement savings strategies, insurance and annuities, divorce finances,
business retirement plans, wealth strategies, and estate and legacy planning.
