The Town of Vinton is making plans to celebrate the Fourth of July 2024 all day and most of the
night.
Events will begin with the 13th annual Four on the 4th Race, which traditionally attracts hundreds
of runners from across the valley. The four-mile run kicks-off from the Vinton War Memorial at
8 a.m.
The racecourse features a downhill start, less than 150 ft of elevation gain, and a run
through picturesque downtown Vinton, including the Vinton Farmer’s Market, newly developed
Vinyard Station, and one of the locations of the Boys & Girls Club at Vinton Baptist Church.
The race ends back at the War Memorial.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia (BGCSWVA) and the Town of Vinton are
partnering once again for the race presented by Fleet Feet. The event benefits the BGCSWVA
which currently serves students ages 5-18 at 10 locations in all-day summer camps at little or no
cost to families. The organization has locations in Montgomery County, Franklin County,
Roanoke County, Salem City, and Roanoke City. The race raises over $30,000 each year to
support summer programs including field trips, academic support and mentoring, and summer
meals for kids.
Registration is open to all ages. The four-mile race at 8 a.m. is followed by a Kids Fun Run at
9:00 a.m. Registration is open now and will remain open until 7:30 a.m. on July 4th. Community
members can learn more and register by visiting

There will be a gospel sing that afternoon at the Vinton Farmers’ Market from 2 to 4 p.m.
On the afternoon and evening of July 4th , Pok-E-Joe’s BBQ and Pollard 107 South will be
hosting special events to celebrate the holiday. (Keep an eye on their Facebook
pages for more details.)
Then that night, the Town of Vinton is excited to host the annual Fourth of July Celebration at
the Vinton War Memorial.
This free event is open to the public and includes fun for the entire family. The festivities begin
at 6:30 p.m. with a short Patriotic program beginning at 7 p.m. Music will be provided by DJ
FLEX. The crowd favorite “foam pit” will once again be part of the festivities this year. The
fireworks show will begin at 9:30 p.m.
Food vendors will include Deb’s Lemonade, The Coffee Bus, Tinker Mountain Kettle Corn,
Tinker Mountain Shaved Ice, Munsey’s Smoke Shack, Kefi Greek, The Local Lemon, DG Ice,
and Duck Donuts.
Please bring blankets or chairs for seating on the lawn. Please leave all pets, alcohol, and

Club of Southwest Virginia Four on the 4th run and the Fourth of July Celebration at the Vinton
War Memorial. Please visit www.vintonva.gov for more information and for a complete list of
