Roanoke County Solid Waste has opened a new recycling site at Glade Creek Park in Vinton.
The recycling trailer that was serving the Vinton Magisterial District at William Byrd Middle
School has been moved to the park, which is located at 325 Gus Nicks Boulevard. The trailers
can be found near the athletic field, below the Billy Byrd Apts., across the road from Gish Mill.

The new site has two trailers available for citizen use, and will accept mixed paper, aluminum,
and plastics #1 and #2.
Roanoke County currently offers several recycling drop off locations, which are emptied
Monday through Saturday. Citizens may place their recyclables in the trailers on Sundays. In
addition, Roanoke County residents are able to take recyclables to the Tinker Creek Transfer
Station during their normal hours of operation.
Please only place accepted recyclable items in the designated bins. Other material will
contaminate the load and it will not be recycled.
All locations accept mixed paper, aluminum, and plastics #1 and #2.
Please break down cardboard boxes to maximize storage space in our recycling trailers.
