Physical Therapist Dr. Brett Hall and Occupational Therapist/Hand Therapist Sean Rahall have
opened Elite Therapy and Performance at Lake Drive Plaza in Vinton and are now accepting
patients.

They are a small veteran-owned business with over a decade of expertise in orthopedic and
neurological rehabilitation. Their clinic offers a comprehensive range of services including
specialized hand therapy, pre/post-operative orthopedic rehab, spinal manipulation, neurological
rehab, post-stroke rehab, cardiac rehab, gait training, home assessments, pain management, and
performance training.
Both Hall and Rahall have ties to the area. Dr. Hall is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise from Liberty University, where he developed a
passion for strength training and conditioning; and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from South
College in Knoxville, Tenn., where he developed an equal passion for orthopedic physical
therapy. He has extensive fitness experience with tactical athletes as well as personal training
experience.
Hall has a special interest in utilizing manual techniques such as joint manipulation in
conjunction with exercise prescription to alleviate pain and improve athletic performance. His
approach to physical therapy involves identifying the source of the pain and/or dysfunction,
facilitating pain relief, and promoting strength and resilience to decrease the likelihood of future
injury. Necks, backs, hips, knees, elbows, shoulders, other muscular conditions, and sports-
related injuries are his specialties.
His father is a William Byrd graduate and Dr. Hall himself “married a William Byrd girl.” He
has served as a firefighter with Roanoke County Fire & Rescue at Station 1 (Hershberger) and at
Cave Spring. He and his wife have one daughter and another baby “on the way.” They live in
Vinton.
Rahall is originally from Princeton, W.Va. He attended the University of North Carolina and
received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 2010. He graduated from the Jefferson College of
Health Sciences (now Radford Carilion) in 2013 with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.
He has 12 years of experience with Department of Veterans Affairs facilities in San
Antonio, Richmond, and at Walter Reed, working in Polytrauma Rehab centers, dealing with
patients who have suffered multiple injuries.
He served in the United States Army Infantry as an Army Ranger during Operation Iraqi
Freedom. He comes from a military family—all combat veterans. He, his wife, and their three
sons live in Buchanan.
Rahall is a skilled hand therapist with experience across multiple practice settings including
neurological rehabilitation, hand therapy, orthopedics, inpatient rehab, poly trauma, and acute
care rehabilitation. He works with patients with carpal tunnel, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s
contracture, arthritis, tennis elbow, and rotator cuff injuries. He uses cutting-edge therapy
techniques including custom splinting, manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, therapeutic
ultrasound, and neuromuscular electrical stimulation.
Hall and Rahall say that they chose Vinton as the location of their first business because they
saw a need for physical and occupational therapy in Vinton and the surrounding Smith Mountain
Lake, Bedford, and Franklin County areas where there is less saturation of services than in the
rest of the valley.
Their plan is to become “a community-focused clinic. We look forward to building strong
relationships with local residents, healthcare providers, and businesses to create a network of
support for the well-being of our community.”
Their offices at 955 Hardy Road have previously housed RM Communications and, most
recently, a check-cashing business. They are located near the former China Wall, Dunkin’
Donuts, and T-Mobile. There is ample parking nearby and four handicapped spots right by the
front door.

The clinic is fully equipped at this point. Few renovations were needed. They are awaiting
permanent signage and will be adding some window mirror tinting and a retractable wall to
ensure patient privacy.
Elite Therapy has hit the ground running and is now welcoming patients. Hours are currently
Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with plans to eventually open at 8 a.m. to
accommodate client schedules.
The business is fully operational and in network with Medicare, Aetna, and other major
insurance carriers, and serves clients of all ages. Patients working with Rahall need a doctor’s
prescription to receive care. Dr. Hall does not require a doctor’s prescription, except in the case
of Medicare patients.
