The William Byrd Middle School wrestling team placed fifth in the Northside Invitational tournament last Saturday. The season ending event includes most of the middle school wrestling teams in the great Roanoke Valley area.
Byrd had a champion in Nelson Escobar at 175 pounds.
The Terriers also had three boys who made the finals and finished second, Jonah Schofield at 105, Myles Preston at 128 and Cameron King at 160.
Third place winners were Lane Brunk at 84 pounds and Bruce Robinson at 120. Braylon Dent, at 70 pounds, and Colton Sotherden at 77 both took fourth.
Andrew Lewis Middle School of Salem was the team winner.
