William Byrd will have 10 boys and one girl competing in the Class 3 state swim meet in Richmond Saturday at the Swim RVA pool. Representing Byrd will be Aiden Brinkley, Dawson Brinkley, Evan Copening, Colin Murtaugh, Nathan Miller, Matthew Hoyos, Michael Hoyos, Cole Kovacevic, Griffin Horacek and Austin Nielsen in the boys’ meet and Emma Copening in the girls meet. “I am so excited for State and so are these swimmers,” said Byrd coach Krista Martin. “We have never had so much depth. We have our sites on the podium.”
