The Town Council of the Town of Vinton, Virginia, hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at 7:00 p.m., or immediately thereafter, in the Council Chambers of the Vinton Municipal Building, 311 South Pollard Street, Vinton, Virginia.
The purpose of the public hearing is to solicit public input on the proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to be submitted to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development for the Town of Vinton Cedar Ave and W. Cleveland Ave Housing and Community Infrastructure Rehabilitation Program. Residents of the project area are encouraged to attend. The Cedar Ave and W. Cleveland Ave Housing and Community Infrastructure Rehabilitation Program proposal will be seeking up to $1,500,000 which will be used to provide funding for housing rehabilitation, acquisition and relocation, home ownership creation, and public infrastructure improvements within the defined project area.
The draft CDBG application will be presented for comment along with information on projected beneficiaries including the number of low- and moderate-income residents to benefit from the proposed project, and plans to minimize displacement. Citizens will also be given the opportunity to comment on the Town of Vinton’s past use of CDBG funds.
