Nathan Kenneth Moorman, 80, of Niceville, Fla. passed away on June 12, 2018.
He was born in Vinton, Va. to William and Emma Chittum Moorman and attended William Byrd High School. He served in Vietnam and retired from the Air Force after over 20 years of service. He was a member of the Alpha Masonic Lodge of Fort Walton Beach, AmVets and American Legion in Niceville.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma Chittum Moorman, and grandparents, Ellis and Emily Chittum and Leslie and Alma Moorman.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carol Wheeler Moorman of Niceville, Fla.; sons, David (Marion) Moorman of Rineyville, Ky. and Richard (Sue) Moorman of Niceville, Fla.; daughter, Susan (Steve) Hatchett of Bremen, Ga.; sister, Shirley Moorman (Cliff) Beakes of Marietta, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Sandra, Crystal, Sonja, Tanya, Stephanie, Matthew, and Chase and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday, June 15, from 5-7 p.m. at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Chaplain Ralph Molyneux officiating. Interment followed in Heritage Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.
