In an update on the June 13 Republican Primary election, results from the Virginia Department of Elections indicate that incumbent Jason Peters won the election in all five Vinton Magisterial District precincts. The total vote was Peters, 910 votes (70 percent), to Harry Griego’s 391 (30 percent).
The results by precinct were Peters 149, Griego 59, in North Vinton; Peters 175, Griego 52 in South Vinton; Peters 334, Griego 129 in Lindenwood; Peters 57, Griego 39 in Bonsack; and Peters 173, Griego 100 in Mount Pleasant. Peters received 22 absentee votes; Griego received 12. The Bonsack precinct votes submitted on Election Night to the Election Board were corrected.
